How to Summer 2016

On the Spring 2016 runways 'the' colour splashed on all the models’ eyes was blue! I know what you're thinking – how can I pull off this trend and not look like my gran? Hear me out for a moment – any eye colour can wear blue and on brown eyes it adds an edgy, rebellious tone.

Chanel, Missoni and DVF gave us cobalt in Milan; turquoise liner and smoky blues in New York; in Paris, navy and glitter. Eyes were focal but a bright lip added drama; skin was bronzed, with a 'lit-from-within' glow.

Try this yourself with make-up brands from high-end to drugstore. If you're a premium make-up kind of a girl, I would definitely recommend Urban Decay eye shadows. Famed for their Naked Palette, colour fans will love their Electric Palette, which boasts pressed pigments in acid brights for the ultimate colour pay-off! Plus they are soooo buttery, blendable and super long-lasting. I applied Gonzo along the crease and for a colour splash I patted Thrash on the lids.

If you're not completely sold on the blue shadow trend but want to earn fashion brownie points, try the graphic liner look. For extra-long wear Barry M Bold Waterproof Eyeliner in Blue is as smooth as a liquid so it's easy to get creative in time for the festival season or just the next barbecue. Pair with a bold lip if you're brave enough or just a nude lip to let the eyes do the talking! Toss your old notions that liner needs to complicated to look perfect. This season is about looking pretty-girl-rebellious cool.
